Biografie

He began his career in television as a scriptwriter and director of series such as ImparesLa pecera de EvaFrágiles or Rabia. In 2011 he creates his production company Caballo Films, with which he directs Stockholm, earning him three Biznagas at the Malaga festival (including best director and best novel script), three medals from the Circle of Cinematographic Writers (including best novel director), the Feroz award for Best Dramatic Film of 2013, the Goya for Best Leading Actor and a nomination for Best New Director. In 2016 he premiered Que dios nos perdone, which won the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay in San Sebastián and the Goya for Best Actor in the Leading Role for Roberto Álamo. In 2017 he premiered the short film Madre, which, after being awarded with more than 100 prizes in national and international festivals, was nominated for the Oscars. El reino, presented in San Sebastian, won 7 Goya awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay. These last two films released in Spanish and French cinemas. Madre is also his feature film, based on his award-winning short film.
