Englisch Something new and fresh at the beginning, something I haven't seen in a dorama before. And it's interesting to see who throws stones at them and who has their eyes opened by their relationship. But then the theme keeps repeating, it becomes transparent, so that when the characters suffer, I don't sympathize with them because the pain doesn't come out of the blue. Plus, it's irresponsible; that's not how this type of relationship should be. At least in my opinion. Still, it's a good story, with a good cast, albeit with a stupid ending. I really liked Michi's mom, and yet I hated Hikaru's mom (stupidly obsessed and blind – I just don't like those types), but apparently they were written that way and evoked the emotions they were supposed to. The main couple themselves are interesting, but I don't know why; they didn't fit together in any exceptional way. It's a drama about a forbidden relationship in a Japanese setting, nothing light, but it's a good 90s dorama that wasn’t trying too much to be preachy about how the decades that followed did it. Why not – go for it! :-) A strong 3 stars. ()
