Eszterkönyv

During World War II Eszter has to choose: she either follows her husband abroad, who is chased by the Gestapo or stays with her daughter from her first marriage. Eszter decides to stay with her love, the more so, because according to her best knowledge her daughter is left in good hands. After the war she returns for the girl, but Anna is lost, there is only a diary to keep her memories. Eszter begins a self-torturing investigation, because even facts cannot make her admit that Anna is dead. The diary "enlivened" by her conscience first devastates Eszter's past and present relations, later the woman herself falls victim to it as well. (Verleiher-Text)
