Set in Poland during the first half of the 17th century, the epic docu-drama Born For The Sabre tells the story of young knight Błażej Wronowski. Jan Jerlicz, a veteran of the Muscovite wars, returns to his fatherland at the request of his brother in arms Maciej Wronowski to begin training Maciej's son, Błażej. This is a story about honour, courage and war, seen through the eyes of a young noble and knight growing up in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The documentary part of the movie is a cinematic journey through the history, art and mystique of the high-end crafting of the Polish sabre, which to date is considered to be one of the best melee weapons on the globe.
