Donato Carrisi serves up a Euro crime thriller starring Dustin Hoffman and Toni Servillo. Samantha is a young girl who was kidnapped and held for 15 years in an underground labyrinth and is now in shock and hospitalized. The Doctor (Dustin Hoffman) as her psychiatrist tries to work through her trauma and find out what really happened. Meanwhile, Toni Servillo searches for a killer with a rabbit mask. I liked the director's debut, The Girl in the Fog, better, but this mystery has something going for it as well. At first I had trouble getting into the film, the slow pace of the narrative rather lulled me to sleep, but somewhere around the halfway point it started to get more interesting, and the intense finale with its unexpected twist was very good. There's an interesting red filter in places, a sort of homage to the old Giallo films. I expected more from this, but it's definitely not bad.
