Seven Songs for a Long Life

The film presents six men and women of different ages, who have no hope of a cure, yet have no idea whether modern medicine will help them stay alive for weeks, months or even years. The seventh protagonist of the film is a nurse, Mandy, who listens carefully to patients, but also delights them with her infectious enthusiasm for music and singing. They all meet in a Scottish hospice providing a wide range of palliative care. Director Amy Hardie has created an unsentimental and very sensitive documentary–musical, which although about a sad topic, brings a smile to your face. (One World)
