Les Épouvantails

In 2013, Zina and Djo return to Tunisia from Syria where they were kidnapped and raped. Nadia, a lawyer, helps them to rehabilitate. She asks Idris, a young man, to help Zina hoping the meeting can help them open their black boxes. Renowned director Nouri Bouzid continues to be occupied with important political issues of social and humanitarian impact. His latest film tackles sexual jihad and the sexual assaults on women by members of extremist groups. Through the story of two girls who differ in everything but agree on the calamity of what happened to them, we follow the impact of their wound, and also monitor how a society, without knowing, can exacerbate the problem.
