Six years ago, Robert Kenner, a mild mannered postman from Peckham, South London was struck by a meteor which bestowed him with super powers. Today, Bob is an overworked underappreciated "civil servant" for the British government. He spends most waking hours saving people and filling out forms. There has been no time for anything else. Least of all love. But today he has a day off. And best of all, he has a date with the woman he once met at the library. Now all he has to do is act as if this isn't the most exciting day of his life. Apparently that puts people off. (Cinemax)

That the English humor almost never disappoints is a fact that is sometimes sadly doesn’t ring true. At first glance, SuperBob seems extremely funny and ironic, when it comes to superheroes. Actually, at first glance it looks similar to the almost genius New Zealand vampire parody – What We Do in the Shadows. However, after a while you realize that not only you are not laughing, but the whole love story surrounding it seems to you incredibly embarrassing. It’s a pity.

Except for the fact that there is a superhero, it's ultimately just a really ordinary romance and nothing else, which is a shame. Occasionally, the powers are used for some funny moments, but honestly, there are surprisingly few of them. I have to say, I was quite disappointed by this movie because it promised more than it delivered.
