Aparição

An adaptation of the novel of the same name by Vergílio Ferreira. In the late 1950s, a young teacher is sent to teach at the high school in Évora, where he intends to reinvent himself as a writer. He is spellbound by one of the local doctor’s daughters who later replaces him with his own student. This provokes a passionate rivalry and triggers an uncontrollable spiral of upheaval and violence.
