El sueño europeo: Serbia

As countries along the Balkan route closed their borders in early 2016, thousands of migrants and refugees became trapped in Serbia. 8.000 of them live in Serbiaʼs government-run camps, as well as abandoned buildings and makeshift camps in the forests, waiting for an opportunity to cross the heavily guarded borders of the European Union. 46 percent of them are children. One in three is unaccompanied by an adult. Those who have attempted to sneak into Hungary report being beaten and tortured by the Hungarian police, before being pushed back to Serbia. (Jeden svet)
