Living the Light - Robby Müller

While making this extraordinary film essay, its author Claire Pijman had access to thousands of Hi8 video diaries, pictures, and Polaroids that Müller shot during his long career including more than 70 features. Many of them were created as part of the long-term collaboration with such directors as Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch, and Lars von Trier. The film intertwines these materials with excerpts of his oeuvre, thus creating a fluid and cinematic continuum. Even when his work is finished, his images keep on moving. The light never fades, as it always creates space for the human story to speak through the images and to come into the light. Living the Light tells the story of that light. (Camerimage)
