I'm not sure which of the girls can be considered a genius friend, but I'm convinced from the bottom of my soul that the piano music that accompanies this compelling tale of a complicated lifelong friendship is what is genius. Composer Max Richter enchanted me with his beautiful music so much that he rightfully has an honorary place in my top list. The second season of the series is absolutely comparable in quality to the first season. In two mono-dramas, the fates of two severely tested girlfriends are explored. Although the role of the narrator is given to Elena, the audience learns two versions of the truth and thus comes face to face with the accounts of the two women, which are certainly not just black-and-white probes into poverty-ridden Neapolitan society. There is a lot of discord between dreams and reality or between love and hate, which characterizes the Italian way of life quite accurately. (04.01.2022)
