Kryptozoologe Travis Preston (Scott Adkins) macht sich mit seinen Assistenten Brandon Hua (Nathan Lee) und Katie Langley (Lydia Leonard) auf zu einer Expedition in eine abgelegene Region im chinesischen Hinterland. Angeblich soll dort ein wildes Tier, von dem die Einheimischen glauben, dass es sich um das Ur-Monster „Shocate" handelt, frei herumlaufen. Auch Travis Erzfeind Jim Harker (Dolph Lundgren), ein gnadenloser Trophäenjäger, hat bereits seine Zelte vor Ort aufgeschlagen. Es beginnt ein Wettlauf gegen die Zeit und Travis und sein Team müssen alle Register ziehen, um die legendäre Kreatur lebendig zu fangen, bevor Harker sie tötet. (EuroVideo Media)

Even though I thought I wasn't a fan of Adkins, I have to say that his face has stuck in my head so much that I'm actually looking forward to his movies. Plus, a movie with Dolph Lundgren in it, that's something I wouldn't want to miss. On top of all that, it's about animals that shouldn't exist, and they're animated with terrible digital effects. It's bad, it's cliché after cliché, but it's still such terrible fun that you just have to watch it. Or maybe you won't even bother watching it. I actually enjoyed it, so why not.
