Joel

Cecilia and Diego have recently moved to a remote village in Tierra del Fuego. Unable to conceive children, they have been on an adoption waiting list for a long time. The sudden arrival of nine-year-old Joel turns their lives upside down. Their plans and hopes change as they confront the difficulty of becoming parents at an accelerated pace and the challenge of raising a troubled boy and inserting him into their small Patagonian community. As Cecilia and Diego face conflicts raised by the boy's behavior at the only local public school, they experience strains on their ties to the community and to friends - and on their own relationship.
