Set It Up

Romcom mit vier Schauspielern, wobei zwei davon Diener und die zwei anderen Chefs spielen. Die Diener machen miteinander aus, dass sie die Chefs dazu animieren sich zu verlieben, bis sie sich schließlich selber verlieben. Keiner wird beleidigt und obwohl die Schauspieler in der dritten Hollywood-Liga spielen, ist es gegangen. Zoey Deutch war ganz gut und das Ganze war auf dem Niveau einer angenehmen amerikanischen Komödie, die nicht besonders witzig ist, was aber nicht unbedingt stört, und man sich dabei erholen kann. You know exactly how it's going to turn out and you can even guess where it’s all going. And that's exactly how it happens. And yet you're not disappointed or bored. And that's actually the nice thing about it. I like it when a movie lives up to my expectations, doesn't let me down, has what I want to happen, and ends the way I want it to end. It's a good feeling. And I don't get the sense from this film that it was intended to be anything more. Just a good movie like we know it. 3 stars. (22.10.2018)

Actually a day later I completely forgot I'd seen this movie; if I hadn't glanced at FilmBooster I wouldn't have remembered. Which I guess in a nutshell tells you how the movie is. Nothing outstanding, doesn't make you think deeply about anything, nobody gives any special acting performance. It's just a disposable romantic comedy. And it's not bad, just... very average.
