Yiannis (Adam Bousdoukos), ein vom Erfolg verschonter Musiker, steht auf der Suche nach einem besseren Leben kurz vor der Ausreise aus Zypern. Seine Pläne werden jedoch auf den Kopf gestellt, als sein Hund Jimi davonläuft und die UN-Pufferzone zu der von der Türkei kontrollierten Seite der Insel überquert. Als er ihn endlich wiederfindet, sieht er sich mit einem Gesetz konfrontiert, welches die Überquerung von Tieren zur griechischen Seite strikt verbietet. Zum Glück lernt er Hassan von der anderen Seite der Grenze kennen, der ihm helfen will, das geliebte Tier wieder zurückzuschmuggeln - der Beginn einer absurden Reise. (Filmperlen)

My first Cypriot movie and so much politics. On the other hand, I would lie if I said that I would expect anything else from it. The creators did it with style and the political topic of two opposing fractions includes a story of a dog who accidentally crossed the border and his human went to look for him. It is not really a comedy as I didn’t laugh but an hour and a half flied by very fast. An exemplary European topic; the plotline was slightly naïve but a few moments definitely deserve attention. I rate it with very solid 3-stars.
