Saviors

The disturbing racial content of this film is front and center. Blaze, a young woman embeds herself in a white power group in order to find her adoptive African-American mother, but one night after the group returns from a rally, they test her allegiance. After Blaze proves her DNA is pure European, the group leader wants to celebrate their 6-month relationship by committing violent acts of racial hatred that, if recorded, could give the group access to a more exclusive racist organization. Utilizing a novel story-telling approach, this thriller gets you to ask to what lengths can people go for their beliefs and can they be saved from themselves? (Cinequest Festival)
