Die beruflich erfolgreichen Freundinnen Vivian, Diane, Carol und Sharon kennen sich schon über 30 Jahre. Regelmäßig treffen sie sich zum gemeinsamen Buchklub. Als Vivian 'Fifty Shades of Grey' zur Lektüre vorschlägt, gerät das Liebesleben der vier in Turbulenzen. Sharon findet Geschmack am Online-Dating, die verheiratete Carol mischt heimlich Potenzpillen ins Essen ihres Mannes, die verwitwete Diane lässt sich auf Zufallsbekanntschaft Mitchell ein und bei Vivian zündet es, als ihre alte Flamme Arthur überraschend vor ihrer Tür steht. Dafür, dass der Film so schlecht ist, habe ich überraschenderweise nur gute Erinnerungen an ihn. Berühmte Schauspielseniorinnen lesen gemeinsam Fifty Shades of Grey. Was könnte banaler sein? Dennoch hat es seinen entspannenden Charme und nostalgischen Wert in Form einer Erinnerung an die wunderbaren Frauen von gestern und heute.

The cool soundtrack contributes a lot to the pleasant atmosphere that accompanies the plot. I'm definitely not one of those who would enjoy reading "Fifty Shades of Whatever", but mostly thanks to the music, the likable cast, and the occasional flashes of easily digestible situational humor, this comedy was quite good. However, it should be noted that the film is particularly appealing to women of mature age who are trying to live life to the fullest and with gusto. (60%)
