Unerbittlich naht der Muttertag! Die Alleinerzieherin Sandy fällt bei dem Treffen mit ihrem Ex aus allen Wolken: Henry kreuzt mit seiner neuen Frau Tina auf, die er den Söhnen als Zweit-Mama vorstellt. Jesse und deren lesbische Schwester Gabi erhalten einen Überraschungsbesuch von ihren stockkonservativen Eltern. Ihre geheim gehaltenen Verhältnisse lassen sich wohl nur schwer verbergen. Miranda, Star eines Homeshopping-Senders, wird daran erinnert, dass sie für ihren Erfolg auf eigene Kinder verzichten musste. Und Kellnerin Kristin, die nach der Geburt adoptiert worden ist, will ihre leibliche Mutter kennen lernen. (ORF)

I actually never understood in what way one is supposed to celebrate Mother’s Day, but it’s nice that somebody tried to turn this topic into a film. At least I got to see Jennifer Aniston again, who – even a hundred years from now – will look the way she does in this film.

This is an unbelievable mishmash of various themes where ultimately nothing is resolved, and everything turns out just as you'd expect. Simply an ordinary romance, which has the main advantage of featuring great acting names. Jason Sudeikis caught my attention the most. The small percentage rating for the film is probably mostly out of respect for Garry Marshall.

The beginning sucked, but as time went on it got going, so I had a lot of fun here and there. Jennifer Aniston deserved the most credit, but Jason Sudeikis wasn't bad either. However, one must bear in mind the fact that in real life everything does not end as sunny as in this nice feelgood movie, which will appeal more to women more than men. (55%)
