Lost in Space – Verschollen zwischen fremden Welten

I'm writing my review after having seen only one season. Not even the ending, as widely open as Mrs. Merkel's arms to welcome refugees, could make me keep watching the adventures of the Robinson family. In order to become a colonist sent to Alfa Centauri, you obviously had to meet many demanding criteria, but logical thinking was just not one of them. The writing didn't really bother with logic or the laws of physics, among other things. Although it is a family series, it shouldn’t underestimate its audience (including the younger ones) so much. Not even Toby Stephens, who was the reason I started watching Lost in Space in the first place, managed to save the overall impression. (25.01.2019)

I wasn’t impressed by the first season in any way. Very early on, it became clear that it would be a series whose each episode would present a problem which would be solved by the end of it. At first, I enjoyed the storyline with June ("Dr. Smith"), but even this part of the story got old pretty quickly and became quite irritating. I was really looking forward to the season being over so that I could watch something less strikingly obvious and predictable. (25.01.2019)

Well, what can I say about it? Only that I obviously don't belong to the target audience of this series, which is clearly intended for a younger or naive audience. I gave it a star just because I didn't want to give up after the first episode, but I didn't enjoy it at all. I really liked the frost that freezes the water before my eyes, but people happily operate outside with exposed wounds and no steam comes out of their mouths. Moreover, the deus ex machina is in play again, and the presence of Judy in the Robinson family can only be explained by quotas and the frequent absence of Mr. Robinson from their shared household. I managed to breathe out my initial disgust, so I was able to squeeze out one star for the second episode as well. I have the impression that the series is a combination of the book "Swiss Family Robinson" (which I didn't enjoy) and the series "The 100". The plot is mostly naive (read: stupid), but at least "Dr. Smith" entertained me with her hyenoid nature. After this episode, I am only interested in one thing - where did the chicken come from? Given that the creators didn't impress me in the third episode either, the second star goes only to the character of cunning June, her perfect survival instinct managed to entertain me and distract me from an otherwise overly absurd storyline, where one nonsense followed another. (24.01.2019)

Well, well, even this time I had no reason to be happy. Both trips promised the possibility of interesting action and excitement, instead I watched flowers reacting to sound and the dissection of a marital crisis over a bottle. Even the play on emotions in the cave didn't really appeal to me, so I was only interested in the revelation of Willow's secret and C.- H. Tagawa's infiltration into the plot. (24.01.2019)

Aháááá, so my dad John's military missions weren't to blame! It's my fault, I blame myself. How could I have doubted my mom Maureen like this? Shame on me! Not only did the creators explain Judy's origin, but they also made a quite enjoyable and entertaining episode, despite not being able to get rid of the logical gaps this time either. (24.01.2019)

I understood from the pilot episode that the series is primarily aimed at a very young audience, but such a transparent plot with "completely unexpected" last-minute rescues can only captivate viewers who still receive gifts from Santa Claus or the chubby red man from overseas. Even June is getting on my nerves, the new romantic storyline did not interest me, and I would really like to know how the robot printed ammunition for that gun on a 3D printer. Probably a good episode, well. (24.01.2019)

To tell the truth, the episode wouldn't be that bad if I wasn't constantly bothered by two questions after watching it. Why do John and Maureen behave like complete idiots when it comes to a gun? There isn't even a shadow of suspicion on June ("Dr. Smith"), anyone could have taken it, assuming that eleven-year-old Will had a weapon stash under his bed. It also isn't clear to me how the tunnel from the asphalt (tar) lake didn't collapse immediately after John released the internal pressure by cutting through it. Could it be a miracle? I'm not a doctor, but I've heard that performing CPR with bent elbows is not very successful... (25.01.2019)

I really try not to be too harsh on the show, as it is supposed to be a family affair for rather naive viewers, but it bothers me that the scriptwriters didn't put at least a little more effort into making everything less predictably terrifying. From what can be seen in this series, I'm quite sad. (25.01.2019)

"I have tremendous joy that I can write with a clear conscience that the ninth episode was mostly about shit. Literally. The extraction of coprolite with the possibility of obtaining some fresh samples was truly fascinating, but all my enthusiasm for finally being entertained was immediately killed off by the creators with new stupidities (an idiot with a radio in the cave and when someone is finally overcome, why aren't they tied up?). The final episode belonged to the more watchable parts, even though those miraculous last-minute rescues have been annoying me since the pilot. Anyway, I was pleased that it was shown again that humanity is a band of thieves and all those "emzaks" should keep a close eye on their anal probes when they abduct someone again, just to thoroughly probe them, for some reason. I was intrigued by a peculiar detail when the Jupiter 2 ramp opens in space, everyone is at risk of being sucked into space, but when the same ramp is forced open, nothing like that happens, why? Does the screenwriter at least know? (25.01.2019)
