George fährt scheinbar ziellos mit dem Auto durch Zypern. Er ist auf der Flucht vor dem Druck, endlich seiner Freundin einen Heiratsantrag machen zu müssen. Unterwegs trifft er eine Braut, die gerade von ihrer eigenen Hochzeitsfeier weggerannt ist. Die beiden machen sich auf zu einem wunderbar-komischen Roadtrip und ergründen unterwegs ihre Vorstellungen von Liebe, Heirat, Bindung und Verpflichtung. (Tiberius Film)

I simply couldn’t miss out on a first introduction to Cypriot films. And as luck would have it, it’s a simple road movie that is based on good dialogues and two strong characters. Well…strong…that depends. They’re rather full of problems. But what can you do when you are driving an old Mercedes Benz down a beautiful Cypriot road and all of the sudden you see on the horizon a person wearing a wedding dress? Well? You pick her up, that’s for sure. And Committed is based on this simple idea. Add all the above and a nice commercial for Cyprus and you will be as satisfied as I was.
