Die zehnjährige Anna leidet an einer seltenen, lebensbedrohlichen Darmerkrankung. Ihre Mutter Christy lässt nichts unversucht und jagt mit ihr von Arzttermin zu Arzttermin. Weder die Schul- noch die Alternativmedizin bietet eine wirksame, lindernde Behandlung. Als Anna einen schweren Unfall erleidet, wacht sie kurz darauf ohne Symptome ihrer Krankheit auf. Felsenfest behauptet sie, während ihrer Nahtoderfahrung von Gott geheilt worden zu sein. (ORF)

You can sit through anything, but I sure did not expect a movie this pushy. It could have been a nice family drama with a happy ending in the style of then Hallmark TV. Actually, there is a huge spoiler in the title. Nevertheless, I held my own through the entire film. For instance, everybody should like wacky Queen Latifah in this one. But the encounter with God at the end of the movie got me to my knees so hard that I could no longer follow what’s happening in the film.

I simply don't enjoy similar nonsense. Sure, something strange might have happened that we can't explain because we don't have the capacity and knowledge to do so yet, but to immediately invoke God is just posturing. Plus, the characters are incredibly boring and predictable, as if every American family is caring, beautiful, and loving. Kitsch, and religious gibberish at that.
