Die Kalakeyas sind besiegt und Amarendra Bahubali bereitet sich auf die Rolle als künftiger König vor. Doch der Beginn seiner Herrschaft steht unter keinem guten Stern. Oberbefehlshaber Bhallaladeva will einen Keil zwischen Amarendra und Königinmutter Sivagami treiben. Während seiner Antrittsreise verliebt sich Amarendra in Devasena, die Prinzessin von Kuntala. Er verbirgt jedoch seine wahre Identität und begleitet sie als einfacher Gefolgsmann an den Königshof. Bhallaladeva erfährt von dem Vorfall und sieht die Gelegenheit, seinen Rivalen zu demütigen. Er fordert von Sivagami, ihm Devasena zur Frau zu geben. Da Sivagami nichts von der aufkeimenden Liebe zwischen Devasena und Amarendra weiß, erfüllt sie Bhallaladevas Forderung. Zu spät erkennt Amarendra die List und steht nun vor einer schweren Entscheidung: Bhallaladeva ist bereit auf die Ehe mit Devasena zu verzichten, wenn er den Königsthron besteigen darf. Amarendra folgt dem Ruf seines Herzens. Doch die dunklen Mächte, die ihn verfolgen, sind längst nicht besiegt. (BollyLove)

Bahubali 2: The Conclusion is a bit of a disappointment for me in the end, because I did get what I expected, but only in scenes that had special effects or were action-packed. When it comes down to it, though, they are beautiful to look at, not only because they are technically stunning, but also because they are imaginative and original.

A great Indian epic that lasts awfully long, but surprisingly doesn't bore at all, one of the best and most expensive films to have come from India. The characters are dense, the action is spectacular and the cinematography is amazing (the final clash has countless ideas and the battle formations, including strategy, will give history buffs orgasms). There are a few laughable moments, but on the whole this is a really great film where everything works, from the story to the emotions to the action. I jokingly paused at the twist midway through the film, because I was honestly shocked, even more so when I learned that it wasn't planned as a twist. Anyone who likes historical epics should not to miss this. Story****, Action****, Humor***, Violence***, Entertainment****, Music****, Visuals*****, Atmosphere****, Suspense****. 8/10.
