Cannibals and Carpet Fitters

In the competition of “horror” comedies with zombies, vampires, cannibals, etc., of which a couple pop up very year, this British addition is a fairly palatable alternative. It’s professionally crafted, doesn’t take itself too seriously, has a few successful jokes here and there, a crude tone and plenty of gore. But don’t expect anything more than that. (16.12.2018)

This year's anticipated cannibal horror films flopped full on (both Escape from Cannibal Farm and The Farm were terrible), but the unexpected newcomer Cannibals and Carpet Fitters probably wins it this year, though it's still nothing special. A carpet manufacturing company sends a group of people to a house in the middle of nowhere where a family of cannibals live out their lives. The film is mediocrely made, but it has surprisingly well-done gore and the characters die in unexpected order, except none of them are at all likeable, so there's not much to root for. The cannibal gang with the aunt, however, are decent. I even laughed a couple of times at the local British slangy black humour, but I'm not entirely sure if the joke was intentional :D Not great, but as a silly splatter it works quite well and doesn't outright offend. 60% (16.12.2018)
