The premise wasn't close to my heart, which made me all the more surprised that I couldn't tear myself away from the screen. The filmmakers really went the extra mile and made a very interesting drama in a surprisingly civil way without the typical American pathos. I was very pleased with two things. Firstly, the plot didn't focus on a child character. Secondly, Allison Janney was cast in practically the same role as in Masters of Sex.

Ellen Page once again showed me why I don't like her, and I simply never will. I find her acting repulsive. Even though she was off-putting to me, thanks to its bizarre plot, which is conceived quite seriously, this movie was watchable. It does have some sort of message in the end, and there are some nice supporting characters.
