Nach 15 Jahren kehrt Det. Harry Ambrose in seine Heimatstadt Keller im Bundesstaat New York zurück. Die frisch gebackene Polizeibeamtin Heather Novack, Tochter eines guten Freundes von Ambrose, hat ihn um Mithilfe in einem verzwickten Fall gebeten: Ein Ehepaar wurde tot in seinem Motelzimmer aufgefunden. Es wurde vergiftet - offenbar vom 13-jährigen Sohn des Paares, Julian. Während Ambrose das Motiv hinter der unfassbaren Tat sucht, ergeben sich Ungereimtheiten hinsichtlich der Identität von Julians Mutter. (ORF)

The second season did not start as perfectly as the first episode of the first series, however, it still had the right suspenseful atmosphere, the story immediately grabbed my attention again, and I am looking forward to how everything will first get tangled up and then unraveled. I also have to appreciate the creators' approach to quotas, with the character of Heather Novack they quickly ticked off three - a woman, a black person, and a lesbian. I applaud, it reminded me of the tale of the clever village woman. 4*+
