I have a soft spot for anything that comes from Jireš's imagination. The basic situation is simple - the drama of the family is escalated, the couple is older and they have an adopted son. What could be more challenging? Jireš tries to dispel the greyness and un-interest of those days with the interesting profession of both of them, as well as the etudes of Kopecký and Schorm. We also obviously get the classic escape to the countryside. The spaces in the Prague apartment are cramped, while the weekend landscape is completely relaxed. (31.03.2013)
