Tấm Cám: Chuyện Chưa Kể

Tam Cam: The Untold Story confirms the present state of the growing Vietnamese entertainment industry. Adapted from a Vietnamese fairy tale, Tam Cam: The Untold Story is similar in narrative structure to Cinderella: kind and beautiful Tam is ill-treated by her stepmother and stepsister, but a fairy guardian watches over her. A demon pretending to be a faithful servant to the king waits for an opportunity to become human. The intrepid prince is asked to marry politically but he declares that he is going to marry the woman whose feet fit the silk shoes, hoping it's Tam, whom he met by chance.

This film has a mixture of various familiar stories, the Cinderella tale at its core, contributing to its commercial success, the film's obvious aim. Tam Cam: The Untold Story is the directorial debut of actress and producer Ngo Thanh Van, who gives a charismatic performance as Tam's stepmother. Following the director's ambition to lead the entertainment industry, she secured popularity by casting members of 365, a boy band she produced, as the male lead and in several supporting roles.
