"Dahmer" is ultimately a rather ordinary story that tries to pass itself off as based on true events. Nevertheless, the film manages to fit in quite well. It's not surprising. The film has good performances, it's believable, but it's simply weak. That man was a monster. If nothing else, it was possible to focus on how society received him, how the trial went, and then how it ended - being killed by a fellow inmate. There are many moments in his life that could have been explored, but Jacobson approached it simply provincially.
