Der junge Straßenkünstler Aja verdient sich seinen Lebensunterhalt in den quirligen Gassen Mumbais. Doch eine Frage beschäftigt ihn seit frühester Kindheit: Wer war sein Vater? Erst nach dem Tod seiner Mutter entdeckt er eine Spur, die nach Paris führt. Kurzentschlossen macht Aja sich auf die Reise in die „Stadt der Liebe“, wo er gleich am ersten Tag die bezaubernde Amerikanerin Marie kennenlernt. Bevor Aja jedoch die Chance bekommt, ihr Herz zu erobern, verschlägt es ihn auf eine spektakuläre Reise quer durch Europa, die ihren kuriosen Anfang in einem unscheinbaren Kleiderschrank eines Möbelhauses nimmt. Ajas abenteuerlicher Trip folgt völlig unvorhersehbaren Pfaden, auf denen der optimistische junge Mann die Eigentümlichkeiten des europäischen Kontinents kennenlernt: Er stößt auf Widerstände und Konflikte, erlebt aber auch tiefe Freundschaft und große Herzlichkeit. An original romantic feel-good comedy that will improve your mood. The story follows a talented Indian fakir who travels to Paris, but spends his first night in an IKEA wardrobe that is shipped across Europe, and this is how a rather adventurous tale begins with the trappings of Europe and refugees. It's a shame that there isn't much humour, but the film is enjoyable to watch, is even suspenseful in places and you root for the protagonist in every convoluted situation. Decent stuff. 65%.

An incredibly nice caress for the soul imbued with the exotic scent of distant India, which put a smile on my face and perfectly improved my mood. I won't go into it further, you can make your own image of it. I simply had a great time and I will gladly return to Fakir again sometime. I must not forget to mention that Dhanush is really likable and the title role suited him perfectly. (90%)
