I love the legend of the Monkey King, but what the hell was this? This is visually so unpleasant - especially the masks are hideous - that it's sometimes quite difficult to look at. Moreover, from the standpoint of the legend, the movie brings absolutely nothing new. A few digital effects somewhat liven it up, but unfortunately, that's all. Very bad workmanship.
