Tortoise in Love

A Brit Rom-Com about Tom, a local gardener who moves at a lethargic pace when it comes to matters of the heart. But when he falls insatiably for gorgeous Polish au pair Anya, the entire village gives him the push he need to win her heart. Almost the whole village of Kingston Bagpuize in Oxfordshire was involved in the making of the film. Young mums helped with the sales and design and publicity. Retired folk provided the drivers and stewards and props and logistics support. The Women's Institute organised a phenomenal catering effort and all the cast and crew were lodged in village homes for the duration of the shoot. In return for its spectacular voluntary effort, the village owns a 'Golden Share' of the film meaning that clubs, schools and societies in the village will benefit from any future profits. The entire film is set in the beautiful English countryside of the Vale of the White Horse in Oxfordshire. (Rialto Distribution)
