Am Strand trifft Tarzan auf eine völlig entkräftete Frau. Er rettet sie vor dem Ertrinken und bringt sie in Sicherheit. Gemeinsam mit Jane kümmert er sich um Mara und erfährt von ihr, dass sie vor ihrem Stamm und der Zwangsehe mit einer angeblichen Gottheit geflohen ist. The last Tarzan film where Johnny Weissmuller still plays the role, and it's kind of an awkward farewell, mainly because Johnny isn't really there. This is about different characters and that's a shame. The film fails to captivate as much, although it tries to make up for it a bit with the finale, and there are a few well-executed scenes - especially the one with the octopus.
