Englisch “What if I’d done it differently back then..." Was it chance or fate? An excellent cast, precise directing and mainly a hugely strong theme that deserved a better screenplay. The imbalance between the separate stories and the plodding nature of some parts takes away from the powerfulness of this. A movie that you can talk about for hours, but in the end looks better on paper than in practice. Despite what I said above, I certainly recommend watching this, because Blind Chance has something to say and leaves you with much to think about. And that’s a big plus. ()

Englisch This is one of those fundamental film works falling into the category of so-called moral anxiety films of the 80s. At the same time, it is Kieslowski's most significant film before he made his masterpiece Dekalog. In the film, Kieslowski plays out three variations of the life of his protagonist, medical student Witek, and against their backdrop, he portrays social life at the turn of the 70s and 80s, the decay of the communist regime, and the unrest in society that culminates in the revolt under the banner of the Solidarity movement. Kieslowski works with the motif of chance, which can fundamentally change a person's life, but at the same time, he believes that it is possible to influence and shape one's own life through one's actions and decisions despite the adversity of the times. The film brought an extraordinary wave of popularity for the lead actor Boguslaw Linda, who became one of the most significant, if not the most significant, Polish actors in the following years. The fates of not only Witek but also the supporting characters are interwoven in all three storylines, making the puzzle presented by the director very attractive to the audience. It is a film about morality and defining human freedom. Overall impression: 90%. ()

Englisch "I hate them when they think no answer's better than a blow to a neck bowed and bared. I I can't stand the helpless, trembling sensation Like gazing down the barrel of a gun. Can't stand the foul and murky situations by which it seems their goals are always won. I hate the reasons with no explanation - the losses that will never be made whole. The fruitless hopes abandoned in frustration till the kindly executioner plays his role. I loathe myself for losing all my nerve and making lame excuses for my part. For smiling all the while at those I serve, though I hate them with all my heart!" - I don't think I need to add anything else, as I certainly couldn't have captured the idea of Kieślowski's movie Blind Chance any better. Let me just make one small comment about the script. The kind of shocking plot connection between the beginning and the end of the movie is simply flawless. (80%) ()
