A famous director from Warsaw comes to a provincial theatre to supervise the staging of Wyspiańsky's Liberation. Young talented Krzysztof, who plays Konrad, soon understands that the routine and sloppy work is just another step on the director's career ladder - so he rebels against him. Neither his theatre company nor in his wife support him though. (Summer Film School)
