Within

I caught up on a 4 year old horror film that I probably ignored at the time, but the result is a digestible one-off that has nothing to offend. The film follows the classic template, at least initially, where a family moves into a new apartment where someone once died and now it's supposedly haunted. Fortunately, this is not a ghost story and genre-wise I would probably classify it as a Home Invasion. It stars the young Starlight from The Boys, a woman who is more than good to look at, the villain is also cool, there's plenty of suspense and an unconventional ending. But it lacked gore for a higher rating. Those who haven't seen it might give the film a chance. Schaut euch nicht den Trailer an, liest keine Kommentare und holt es euch runter. Aus dem Netz meine ich natürlich, ihr Schweine! Aber wenn man es nicht lassen kann und diese dummen Zeilen weiter liest, verrate ich euch nur eins: Nicht alles ist so, wie es scheint. Neben dieser Überraschung wird man sich auch auf erträgliche Gesichter, einen guten Bösewicht und ein gelungenes Finale freuen dürfen, nach dem es anscheinend keinen Platz für Happy Ends gibt. Oder doch? Verschwende keine Zeit mehr und überzeugt euch selbst! (10.04.2017)

Within is not a great horror movie, it's not a stunning horror movie, but it is a good horror movie. It's a horror film that can scare you, but above all there's an important atmosphere that you can cut, coupled with the fact that there are some really good scenes. For example, watching what was happening behind me in the reflection on the kitchen counter was really creepy to me. (10.10.2018)
