For the indigenous people of the Cambodian province of Mondulkiri, elephants have always been part of life. The special relationship with these majestic animals is based on the belief that the elephant is a man who drank from a sacred lake and ate a magic fish. In recent years, however, elephants are used almost exclusively for tourist rides. But that's not the only change. The forests where the breeders used to run their elephants are declining dramatically. This poetic film tells the story of the last "elephant man" who knows how to talk with the sacred forces – a young man who learns the art of mastering an elephant – and a family searching remorsefully for the elephant it rashly sold.
