Der 18-jährige Addison Schacht ist ein Teenager mit rebellischer Natur. Gerade hat er den Abschluss an seiner Highschool geschafft und soll sich nun für die Universität in Chicago bewerben. Beim Schreiben seiner Bewerbung zum Thema »Was sind deine besten und schlechtesten Qualitäten?« stellt Addison fest, dass er nicht viel Gute zu bieten hat: In seinem letzten Schuljahr hat er mit Drogen gedealt, fiese Witze über seine Mitschüler gemacht und Lehrer und Eltern beleidigt. Als allerdings sein Kumpel Kevin Broadus in einer sinnlosen Schießerei getötet wird, beginnt er auf eigene Faust zu ermitteln. Zusammen mit seiner Freundin Phoebe verstrickt er sich immer tiefer in die Angelegenheiten, die zum Tod seines ehemaligen Mitschülers geführt haben. (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment)

I only watched the film because I love Chloë Grace Moretz who gave a decent performance as usual. As for the rest of the cast, only David Strathairn caught my attention. The story seemed flat and lifeless. To be completely honest, I was pretty bored. The longer I watched, the less I cared how the film would end.

An excellent atmospheric film with a relatively simple but perfectly crafted story. The acting duo of Chloe and Ansel fit perfectly. There's nothing else to add.

Chloë Grace Moretz and Ansel Elgort work well, but the story does not play in their favor. Up until about halfway through the runtime, it looks like it could be quite good, suspenseful, with the potential for an interesting twist, but surprisingly, that never happens and the resolution is very underwhelming. That is a great shame.
