Mother

Kazuo Umezu (Ainosuke Kataoka) is a manga artist. A publisher contacts him about publishing his biography. Sakura Wakakusa (Mimi Maihane) is the biography's editor. As she researches Umezu's life, she finds out that he draws inspiration from his deceased mother, Ichie (Kimie Shingyoji), to produce his unique creations. Paranormal activities start to occur around Sakura as she continues her research. She finds mysterious hand prints on the window of Umezu's second house. She sees a passenger in a supposedly empty taxi cab and a strange purple aura around Umezu. And her own image in Ichie's mourning portraiture...! Umezu's dead mother, returning from beyond as a grudging and malevolent spirit, raises hell for her own son and Sakura! (Shochiku)
