Shambhala

Discovered by a zestful and curious mountain dweller and his sister, Issa is taken in by the family, who live on an almost inaccessible property alone. The mundane existence of the mountain family is turned upside down as they are faced with overwhelming obstacles of culture and language. They all must prepare for the eventual arduous and dangerous journey back to civilization, where they are forced to shed their innocence and traditions, which have protected their culture for millennia. As Issa’s health is restored, his plight to leave the valley before the winter sets in becomes more apparent as musings and vague memories begin to remind him what he’s fighting to get back to – a family.
