Der ehemalige Soldat Paul hat dem Schlachtfeld endgültig den Rücken gekehrt. Begleitet von seiner treuen Hündin Abbie, reitet er nach Mexiko. Sein Weg führt ihn in das Wüstenstädtchen Denton. Das heruntergekommene Silberminendorf ist der Willkür von Marshal Martin und dessen Sohn Gilly ausgeliefert. Prompt macht Heißsporn Gilly dem einsamen Reiter das Leben zur Hölle. Als er ihn in einen Hinterhalt lockt und Abbie tötet, kennt Paul keine Gnade und sinnt nach blutiger Rache. (ORF)

It's evident that Ti West drew a lot of inspiration from Leone, but even though he took a wide aspect ratio and had good music, he didn't have a strong enough story, and there simply aren't characters worth investing in. The main character is okay, but the others are not. Travolta is boring, Taissa is unused, and the others just talk too much. Too bad. If this had turned out better, it would have been a great elevation of the western genre.
