Martin, ein mysteriöser Fremder, kommt in eine Kleinstadt. Er ist auf der Suche nach seiner Frau. Er will sie finden und töten, denn sie leidet unter einer sehr gefährlichen und hochansteckenden Krankheit. Martin findet heraus, dass seine Frau schon vor Jahren gestorben ist. Kurz darauf wird er von drei lokalen Kleingangstern brutal attackiert. Schwer verletzt kommt er bei einer Familie unter. Doch was er nicht ahnen kann - auch er ist infiziert und löst durch sein Blut eine grauenhafte Epidemie in der Stadt aus. (Tiberius Film)

This film is considered below average everywhere (right now it has 22% positive reviews in Rotten Tomatoes and only 8% satisfied viewers), but I surprisingly liked it. It is not great, surprising or original in any aspect, but it’s still nicely shot, it doesn’t rush and has a pleasant and melancholic mood. I won’t think again about it, but compared to other new horror movies, it’s certainly in the better half.

"The Stranger" can bore you with its unbelievably slow pace. Surprisingly, it's not a film that has any unexpected twists; on the contrary, it operates on a fairly straightforward level and doesn't really impress. However, what is presented is still unpleasant, and you don't know how much worse it can get. It's not as bad as it could be, but "The Stranger" is a decent little snack that is generally underrated.
