Tief im Dschungel von Sri Lanka. Affenweibchen Maya zählt mit acht Jahren in ihrer Gruppe von Hutaffen schon zu den älteren. Sie hat es nicht leicht, da sie in der Rangordnung ganz unten steht. Da beginnt sich das Affenmännchen Kumar für sie zu interessieren. Wenig später bringt sie ihren Sohn Kip zur Welt. Für Maya und ihren Sonnenschein brechen jedoch schwierige Zeiten an. Die Felsenburg der Affenhorde wird nämlich von einem stärkeren Stamm übernommen. (ORF)
