52nd KVIFF – I only met Ken Loach once before this movie and he hasn’t yet become engraved in my consciousness. But when he accepted the Crystal Globe prior to this movie, I thought it would certainly have some justification and I started to really look forward to Sweet Sixteen. But as soon as the film started, a story of two fifteen-year-old brats who think theft changes lives was set in motion. I admit that at times it seemed like an interesting, conversation-heavy gangster movie, which at times, due to its locations, reminded me of the first movies by Guy Ritchie. But in the end, that’s all the movie remained.
