1944: Der Luftkrieg über Europa ist in der entscheidenden Phase. Die deutsche Luftwaffe kämpft mit allen Mitteln gegen die alliierten Bombenangriffe. Flight Officer Earl Kirk hat in der Luftschlacht um England gute Freunde verloren und ist nun ein erfahrener Pilot in der britischen Royal Air Force. Mit seiner B-24 Bomberstaffel wird auf er eine Mission über Deutschland geschickt: Er und seine Männer sollen Benzinlager in der Nähe von Bremen angreifen, um den Nachschub für deutsche Panzer zu unterbinden. Doch die Mission ist ein Himmelfahrtskommando, der Dauerbeschuss durch die deutsche 88er Flak ist gnadenlos, deutsche Jagdflugzeuge greifen den Verband an. Als seine Maschine mehrere Treffer erhält, muss Earl eine harte Entscheidung treffen. Wird er es schaffen, seine Crew zurück nach Hause zu bringen? (Pandastorm pictures)

Another story from the war where it's not just about the battles, but also about human lives. I mean that there are some relationships between the individual fighters being addressed here. It's just another variation of "Pearl Harbor" or "The Blue World", and with all their negatives. Well, it's true that there aren't that many positives, although it must be mentioned that the visuals are quite nicely adapted to the time and conflict - rather gray colors. On the other hand, was it just me, or were most of the airplanes digital? Boring in terms of the story, as well as action. Considering that I had seen action-packed (in terms of action and realism) "To Life and to Death" the day before, "Angel of the Skies" simply cannot succeed. And I'm still being lenient towards the actors.
