Dichter Nebel liegt über London. Plötzlich unterbricht ein gurgelnder Schrei die Stille. Inspektor Larry Holt von Scotland Yard mag nicht mehr an einen Unfall glauben, als die Polizei nach einer Nebelnacht zum wiederholten male einen Toten aus der Themse fischt. Bei den Opfern handelt es sich stets um wohlhabende, alleinstehende Herren aus Übersee - und alle waren mit einer horrenden Summe bei der Greenwich-Insurance-Company versichert. Der scharfsinnige Inspektor entdeckt bei den Toten winzige Zettel in Blindenschrift und vermutet, dass die "toten Augen von London" - eine Verbrecherbande blinder Hausierer - wieder aktiv sind. The movie was hilarious and often had me laughing out loud. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the filmmakers’ intention. I couldn't help feeling as if I was watching a kind of alternate reality in which Hitler won the war, but that's my own fault, I just found the German in "London" funny. That wasn't the worst thing about it, though. The movie didn't work for me as a thriller (much less a horror film) because it lacked suspense, the story was hopelessly predictable and most of the scenes could only make me laugh (except those that were meant to be funny). All the action (if you can even call it that...) was handled very poorly and the whole thing felt quite cheap. Two stars for the unintentional humor and a very nice damsel in distress.
