Igam Ogam, ein fröhliches und freches Höhlenmädchen, lebt auf einem winzigen Planeten irgendwo im Urzeit-Weltall. Gemeinsam mit ihrem Säbelzahntigerfell wohnt sie in einem eigenen kleinen Haus und ein großer Dino namens Papasaurus kümmert sich darum, dass sie auch immer duscht und frühstückt. Die wenigen Bewohner des Planeten sind allesamt Igam Ogams Freunde. Ihr Freund Kuller, ein bananenbesessener kleiner Affe, schläft auf einem hohen Bananenbaum. Leckosaurus Waldi ist Igam Ogams treuer Begleiter. Auch er hat wie Igam Ogam ein eigenes Haus und liebt es, in seinem Schnarchbaum zu liegen und Stöckchen zu holen. Igam Ogams beste Freundin Piepmatz ist ein reizendes Flugsaurier-Mädchen, die hoch oben in einem Nest auf den Steinklippen wohnt. Das Alltagsleben auf dem kleinen vulkanübersäten Planeten stellt Igam Ogams Geduld und Eigensinn auf eine harte Probe. Sie will eigentlich nur Spaß haben und am liebsten soll alles so sein, wie sie es sich wünscht, doch manchmal geht das eben nicht und dann müssen ihre Freunde auch schon mal ein ernstes Wort mit ihr reden. IgamOgam, an animated series created in the Welsh studio Calon, is one of the most original and playful shows for young children. At first glance, the openminded viewer will get inventive animation combining the technique of stop-motion animation with minor elements of cartoon animation and computer post-production. The main benefit consists in the overall presentation and development of the characters, led by the titular heroine, who is not a venomously pink princess, but a properly cheeky and mischievous little girl. The individual episodes focus on mastering the interaction of children with their parents and their surroundings, but the creators approached this theme not from the perspective of despotic parental rationality, but from the perspective of children who, like IgamOgam, are carefree and playful, as well as stubborn and egocentric, all at the same time.
