Following everyday lives of three loveable characters of Boni, Ho and Titi – representatives of the marginalised subculture of bus musicians that has never hit the silver screen – the picture portrays the dazzle and destitution of Indonesian capital Jakarta. Driven by a powerful soundtrack of the three musicians' original compositions, it accompanies them as they perform songs of social angst, face family crises, get caught in political unrest and detained by the police. The film paints an alarming portrait of Jakarta that teems with social inequality but also with humour and brutal honesty. (IFF Bratislava)
