Andrzej Wajda paid tribute to theatre with a film adaptation of Aleksander Fredro’s play The Revenge. The comedy, written in an ironic style, reveals the character traits of Poles that often led them to misfortune. The role of the cowardly Papkin is portrayed by Roman Polański. (Summer Film School)
