Für Emily Watson (Noell Coet) ist nach einem tragischen Autounfall nichts mehr so, wie es war. Ihre Mutter ist dabei ums Leben gekommen und Emily ist durch diesen Schock erblindet und traumatisiert. A film was made that doesn't excel in anything and only plays on the fact that we should sympathize with a blind girl. If I had the feeling that she was really a blind girl, it might work, but in this case, it is only a mildly daring, poorly thought-out, and quite inconspicuous story that builds on the idea of the film "Purge". Only this time, it's not about any truly tough concept but just a classic idea with a person trapped in their own home.

This year the competition in home-invasion movies is very strong and this fairy-tale about a blind girl and a violent cabinet maker in a yellow cloak (happy ending included) doesn’t have much of a chance of being well received by fussy viewers. Especially when, for most of the time, said cabinet maker just stands in a corner and does nothing, while Esmeralda tries to kill herself stepping on sharp objects and whatnot.
